American Councils has established a strong and lasting presence throughout Tajikistan, a remote country with limited opportunities for exchange with the United States. Our office, located in the capital city of Dushanbe, serves as a vibrant hub for educational and cultural collaboration. Since its founding in 1994, American Councils Tajikistan has been supported by a dedicated and experienced team, many of whom have been with the organization for decades. Their deep expertise and commitment have been instrumental in building our longstanding reputation for success in the region.
At the heart of our office is a well-equipped language center, offering students access to immersive language study that goes beyond the ordinary. While Iranian Farsi is the primary language studied, we also provide courses in Afghan Dari, Pashto, Tajik, and Uzbek, reflecting the rich linguistic diversity of the region. Through these programs, students gain not only language proficiency but also a deeper understanding of Central Asia’s complex cultural landscape.
